Baptism

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a sacred outward sign of an inward, saving reality. It is a visible sermon, proclaiming that a believer has been united with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. When we go under the water, we picture the burial of our old, sinful selves; when we come up out of the water, we picture our new life in Christ, cleansed and justified by faith alone.

Why Be Baptized?
Christians are baptized out of joyful obedience to the command of King Jesus (Matthew 28:19) and as a public declaration of allegiance to Him. It is your first step of discipleship—publicly "putting on Christ" and locking arms with His local covenant body, the church. If you are ready to make this public declaration of faith, we encourage you to take this next step.
